Looking back on MLH Local Hack Day 2018
Five years ago Major League Hacking (MLH) started Local Hack Day with a simple goal — to celebrate amazing local hacker communities! Since then Local Hack Day has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. It’s a celebration of learning, building, and sharing that has grown beyond our wildest dreams!
Hackers at Local Hack Day are diverse, creative, passionate, and vocal about their communities. We were inspired to see so many first time organizers and hackers, so many creative projects, and so many people coming together across every continent in the world.

MLH Local Hack Day in 2019
Next year, MLH is expanding Local Hack Day! Local Hack Day was such a huge success last week that we’re growing it to three events in 2019–2020.
Starting in the early Fall 2019 with MLH Learn, organizers around the world will put on mini-developer conferences on campus by tapping into the amazing content that the MLH Localhost team is launching. Hackers will learn tons of new skills that they can use at hackathons and beyond.
Then in December 2019, organizers will embrace the spirit of MLH Build by hosting 12-hour hackathons in the format of the Local Hack Day you already know and love. Hackers of all skill levels will walk away with valuable hands-on experience from building something awesome.
Finally, in the late Spring 2020 organizers will gather their communities to celebrate all the hackers they empowered throughout the year by hosting local MLH Share Demo Days where they can show off the amazing things they built, put the finishing touches on them, and share their work with the world through open source and updating their portfolios.
Happy hacking, and thanks for supporting this amazing community!
